This is a very narrow two-story bridge that carries vehicle traffic on the lower deck and rail traffic on the upper deck. As of 1997, the vehicular deck was constructed of wood planks and a weight limit was posted to prevent truck crossings. When taconite pellets are being carried by a train above, they have been known to bounce out and hit cars driving below, causing no damage in most cases.

  • In Early 2001, the wooden road deck was replaced with a concrete surface, allowing for heavier vehicles to travel the bridge.
