This smelter owned by Boliden AB produces zinc metal, sulphuric acid, and aluminum fluoride powder. The plant first started operating in 1929 and currently produces 160,000 tonnes of metal per year. Since 1970 the plant also produces aluminium fluoride (up to 29,000 tonnes per year) for use in aluminium smelters.
