Exeter's main football club, the Grecians, founded in 1904. In their illustrious history City have played Brazil twice, and more recently are known for holding Manchester United to a draw at Old Trafford in January 2005.
After a short spell out of the Football league, Exeter City have just (May 2008) won the final play-off at Wembley, & will be re-joining League 2 next Season (2008 / 9).
