Wembley Stadium is an association football stadiums at Wembley Park in the London Borough of Brent. It serves as England's national stadium. The designers of the stadium were Foster + Partners and HOK Sport Venue Event. The stadium was constructed by Multiplex from 2003 to 2007 at a cost of £900,000,000.
Wembley Stadium is based around a three-tier bowl design with an all-seater capacity of 90,000 including 166 luxury boxes, protected from the elements by a sliding roof that covers the entire seating area. It can also be adapted for athletics use by installing a temporary platform over the lowest tier, reducing capacity to 68,000. The stadium's signature feature is a circular-section lattice arch of 7 m (23 ft) internal diametre with a 315 (1,037 ft) span, erected 22° off true and rising to 133 m (436 ft). The arch supports all the weight of the north roof and 60% of the weight of the south retractable roof. The archway is the world's largest unsupported roof structure. The roof rises to 52 m above the pitch and has an area of 40,000 sq m, of which 13,712 sq m is movable. There are 107 steps to be climbed to the Royal Box to collect a trophy. It also contains 2,618 toilets. The size of the football pitch is 105 x 68 m.
Among the events hosted at Wembley Stadium are the FA Cup Final (since 2007), the football final of the 2012 Summer Olympics, the NFL International Series (since 2007), the Rugby League Challenge Cup Final (since 2007), and the 2011 UEFA Champions League Final. Several concerts have been held at the stadium as well. The England National Football Team is one major tenant of Wembley Stadium.
