One of the best and cleanest beaches in Goa. Its a must visit especially for the sweet water lake present to the north of the beach.
The name of this ancient place in Goa is Harmal which is been corrupted to Arambol.
On the northern edge of the beach is a hill which contains soil full of ashes from yagyas performed by Lord 'Parashurama' . The konkan region i.e. right from Mumbai to Thiruvananthapuram is been created by Parashurama by filling the soil in the sea.
