A well-known hotel since the 1950s ... when a Swiss man named Ernest 'Teddy' Stauffer (aka 'Mr. Acapulco') promoted the cliff divers and encouraged the owner to build it to promote Acapulco internationally. 'La Perla' (The Pearl) is the restaurant which overlooks the cliffs where the divers jump several times a day.
