Nerpa (Нерпа) - Shipyard, the main company for repair and maintenance of nuclear submarines of the Northern Fleet of Russia . Forming enterprise of Snezhnogorsk the Murmansk region . Currently, one of the activities of the plant is the disposal of end-life of submarines and other transport equipment.
With an increase in the Northern Fleet of submarines with nuclear power plants , the need for year-round repair and maintenance, and retrofitting subs directly with the ground-based systems. To solve this problem, the Government of the USSR on 14.02. 1964 decided to build a non-freezing harbor Kut (lip deer) of the Kola Bay North commissioning framework, and on 09/08/1964, the dockside and the village repairers were begun (later Snezhnogorsk). For these purposes the state was allocated 147.5 million rubles. Construction was carried out by workers, civil servants and military engineers Severovoenmorstroya CSF .
In 1966 the plant was renamed Nerpa, organizational and included in the 1 st General Directorate Minsudproma USSR, and from September 1968 into the newly created Office 12 Main Minsudproma USSR.Nerpa started its production activity in 1970 . Since the beginning of 1980 the plant fully meets the needs of SF (the Northern Fleet) in the repair and refurbishing nuclear submarines certain projects.
Beginning in 1995 , the plantbecames actively engaged in the problems of disposal of Navy ships with nuclear power plants. Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation № 518 from 28.05. 1998 , the General customer and coordinator of the dismantlement of decommissioned Navy determined Minatom. Under this Ordinance, and international programs utilized by the more than 80 ships, more than 10 DPL , more than 30 submarines.
Between 2002 - 2003 years at the shipyards Nerpa work was carried out on utilization of the first Soviet nuclear submarine K-19 and raised the 2002 submarine K-141 Kursk . In 2007 Nerpa was reorganized in a takeover by Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Center of repair" Star now Center Ship repair "Asterisk"). Currently Nerpa is the leading branch of JSC "CA" Star ". From 1994 to 2009 at the Nerpa 40 nuclear submarines have been dismantled.
