Badkhal Lake (now Grassy Terrain)

It is located in Badkhal Village, 32 km from Delhi. The lake fringed by Aravalli hills is a man-made embankment. A flower show is held every spring here. Its name is most probably derived from the Persian word "bedakhal", which means free from interference. Close to Badhkal Lake is the Peacock Lake, which is another picturesque spot.

  • What a pity that the Badhkal lake is now totally dry. Have fond memories of visits there with my family.
  • I guess the govt. will now sell this land to builders to construct multi-storeyed flats there. Or better still, Govt. should make a few more quarrying sites on this land. Will give them a lot of revenues I'm sure. After all, that's what our natural resources are for, isn't it...
  • 2010 Common Wealth Games are over now. Where is the promise of the Govt.? lol
