The CANAL movable bridge, first built by the Reading Railroad, bridges the Cape May Canal, part of the inter-coastal waterway. The bridge was rehabilitated by the Cape May Seashore Lines for restored passenger service back to Cape May city. It has been open to boat traffic since 2013, as vandalism to the rail line north of the bridge has rendered the track impassable.
