This building, built in 1896, is Oconomowoc's former Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Depot, situated on their mainline between Chicago and the Twin Cities. The "Milwaukee Road" was absorbed by the Soo Line Railroad at the end of 1985, and the Soo Line continues to operate through town, as a subsidiary of Canadian Pacific. Amtrak's Empire Builder passenger train runs past this station twice a day, but does not stop in Oconomowoc.

The former depot is now named Maxim's at the Oconomowoc Depot, a restaurant serving a variety of cuisine.
