An integral part of the 1180 kW Wind-diesel hybrid system owned by the Batanes Provincial Government and operated by the National Power Corporation- SPUG. Inaugurated in August 2004 by Sec. Vince Perez in behalf of Pres GMA, this is the first commercially operated wind-diesel hybrid system in southeast asia.

  • Pls ask the NPC-SPUG in Basco about the operational status of the wind-diesel hybrid plant. NPC operates the plant and BATANELCO handles the power distribution.
  • If you are really an Ivatan, then there is no need for us to ask NPC or BATANELCO regarding this matter, you yourself would actually experience if the the Power System in the province has an improvement because of this Power Plant. Maybe it's about time that we Ivatans should properly consider feasibility studies on projects as fat in amount as this project because there are still a lot of Ivatan's who needs help specially on fundamental needs daily.
