Calayan is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 16,233 people in 2,654 households.

The Calayan islands are one of the Babuyan Islands in the Luzon Strait north of Luzon Island.

It is home to the Calayan Rail, a flightless bird identified as a separate species in 2004.

  • if your from manila you can take a plane to tugegarao, cagayan and then transfer again to a small plain to calayan island. Or you can ride florida bus manila to aparri 12hours ride then ride a ferry.
  • it is very easy to go to Calayan, all you have to do is to prepare yourself, because they call it the island of no return.
  • that's when you forgot to pray:-)
