park, region, nature conservation park / area
The Big Shoals Wildlife Management Area is open for hunting on specific days from mid-September through mid-April. All other days, hunting is prohibited.
There is a paved hike/bike path through the midst of this WMA connecting the two portions of Big Shoals State Park. Interestingly, the northern terminus of this path is outside the fee area of the state park itself, seemingly indicating that you don't need to pay the fee to hike/bike the path. The southern terminus is within the fee area, though, seemingly indicating you are supposed to pay the park entrance fee to use the path.
