  • Perth Amboy Tottenville Ferry Slip At the foot of Smith Street Perth Amboy, NJ The site of ferry service to Staten Island dates to 1684 when the likes of Ben Franklin and the Lenape Indians used its service to traverse the Arthur Kill. The service closed in 1963. The ferry slipThe original fare was restored in 1998 to its 1904 appearance. A replica of the ticket office has been constructed and used as a small museum. (someone deleted teh above from the original entry to satisfy their own ego - see history)
  • used the ferry many times in the late 40' 50's to go to the skating rink in Perth Amboy Recall the two men playing a violin and another instrument for tips. Glad to hear they rebuilt the slip.
  • my dad Harry E Wood was the captain on this ferry for many yrs. up until the day it closed. many fond memories
