Guptipara is an old traditional village with ancient sanskrit toles(schools). Mohanlal, the great Patriot at the time of Nabab Sirajuddoula was born here.The "Baroari/Baro yari- puja" or the worship by 12 brahmins started here. The Jagat-dhatri puja at Vindydbasini-tala is still continuing the tradition. The terrakota work at the Ramchandra temple .the fresco paintings at Jagannath temple are still the objects of attraction.The Ratha yatra is still second largest gathering of its type, after Mahesh in West Bengal.This place is also the birth place of great Kabiyal Bhola Moira.

  • The first publicly organised Sri Bindhabasini Jagaddhatri Puja was held at Guptipara, when some men were stopped from taking part in a household Durga Puja. There are some old temples in this rural town - Brindabanchandra Temple, Chaitanyadev Temple, Krishna Chandra Temple and Ramachandra Temple.The Ratha Jatra of Guptipara is also famous.

My father various job done by people for well wisher in pathmahal. My childhood passing in guptipara in few year. Guptipara was nice,beutifull,heritage villiage. Rathajaytra,Bindabanchandra Mandir, Desh kalitala was also famous & heritage. I love guptipara very much. I miss guptipara, due to just I living along with my my family in Kolkata.
