A ruined medieval castle overlooking Llangollen and the Dee valley, Castell Dinas Bran (sometimes known as Crow Castle) stands high on a hill previously occupied by an Iron Age hill fort. It is thought by some to be the mysterious Castle Corbenic of Arthurian legend, the location where the Holy Grail was found.

The shape and size of the hill can be determined from its shadow, falling over the fields immediately to the north*.
