  • Linaria is located on the coast of the western side of the island, in the center of Kalamitsa Bay and at a distance of approximately 15 km. S.-S.W. from Chora. It is the island's port, which connects by ferry with Evia via Kymi (approximately 31 nm. as the crow flies), the rest of the Northern Sporades islands and Volos (approximately 79 nm. as the crow flies). The port faces west and is protected from the northeast, east, south and southeast winds, while it has 4 quays for its passenger sector and 2 for the tourist sector. The settlement extends around the port and has several tourist accommodations, catering establishments and shops. Linaria as a port began to be used after the Revolution of 1821 and in 1828, following a proposal by the then Demogerontia to the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Northern Sporades because the port of Chora, which was until then on the beach of Magazia in today's Molos, had been deemed unsafe. It was officially mentioned for the first time in 1908. It has 116 inhabitants. https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%9B%CE%B9%CE%BD%CE%B1%CF%81%CE%B9%CE%AC_%CE%A3%CE%BA%CF%8D%CF%81%CE%BF%CF%85
