This town house was built in the 17th in the Petit Prés ["Little Meadows"] on the left bank of the Grand Odon ["Great Odon River"]. This meadow had become increasingly urbanised throughout the 17th century, with the creation of the neighbourhood around Place Royale ["Royal Square"] (now Place de la République ["Republique Square"]).
