One of two large locks that separate the Eastern Arm of Shoreham Harbour from The Canal (also known as Southwick Canal).
Prince Philip Lock was completed in 1958.

Allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross the river. Sometimes opens to let boats through and you then have to wait 20-30 minutes.

  • Because they're locks - a bridge wouldn't keep the water in!
