Klooga concentration camp (Klooga)

The camp was opened in 1943.
It held 2000-3000 prisoners, mostly jews from Lithuania.
When the Red army advanced towards the site, SS-men shot the last 2500
prisoners on 19 september 1944 and burned most of the corpses.
Less than 100 prisoners managed to hide and survived.
There is a jewish memorial on the site.

  • The places where Klooga concentration camp was situated and Levassovo north of S:t Petersburg are the most ghastly places I have ever seen. How can human beings come up with something so inhuman.
