Alpena landmark; private residence built by Alpena attorney Carl Henry in the early decades of the 20th Century. The exterior is finished in a myriad of stones, including a large stone dredged from the bottom of Lake Huron, six miles from shore. The Victorian, Queen-Anne-style house features several gables and a large, gazebo-like front porch. Interestingly, the residence nextdoor to the southwest is nearly identical architecturally but is rarely noticed next to its stone-faced neighbor.
