The polygon shape is an approximation of the shape of the former college and high school building, chapel, dining room, classrooms and offices.
The Seminary was heavily damaged in the Loma Prieta Earthquake in 1989 and never reopened. Eventually the property was sold and the building torn down. It was a wonderful historical place of Catholic priestly formation. The seminary was once known as St Patrick's College Seminary and later took the name St Joseph College Seminary after San Jose Diocese was established in this area.

  • Check out the time travel tool in Google Earth... Slide the date bar back to 1948 and you can see the seminary. It appears to be slightly farther to the NW than mapped here, but really close.
