Built on the former Agecroft Power Station at Manchester, HM Prison Forest Bank is an 800 place B Male Local Prison serving the courts of the North-West. The prison does not take Category A prisoners, nor females, though it does take Adults from the Wigan, Leigh and Bolton Courts and Young Offenders from all of Greater Manchester. The prison, which is contracted out for 25 years to United Kingdom Detention Services sits in the middle of a £2.7 million country park with lake and meadows built by the prison

Accommodation: Cellular. Mostly single cells, some double cells. All the cells are designed to be safer, having almost no ligature points.

Services for Young Offenders: Manchester, Oldham, Stockport,Trafford, Tameside, Rochdale & High Peak.
