Cold War 1947-1991, nikemissile

Abandoned Nike Missile Base located in Plainville just West of Interstate 84. The base is accessible via North Mountain Road and Loon Lake Road off of 372. It is supposedly a public road, although there is a 'No Trespassing' sign spray painted on the back of a municipal road sign. There are several houses just to the North of the base. Little is known about who the residents are, but the houses existed before the base was built. A lot of the land surrounding this site, especially to the west and north, is of high value to area miners. Both Aiudi and Tilcon have attempted to purchase parts of the land for mining but have no been successful.
