"The 220 acre site was acquired by lease from Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Von Glahn on October 13, 1941. The lease excluded the rights of way for the canals and highways and excluded the buildings already on the site. Mr. Von Glahn also had joint use of the runways as long as he did not interfere with the operations of the military personnel. The site was released on September 1, 1944. The current owner is documented as Lakeland Dusters
Aviation, Inc., no other documentation of ownership history was discovered, except through hearsay. The World War II underground tanks were removed."
