Located in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, the Wheelabrator Falls trash incinerator burns up to 1,500 tons of trash per day. Operating since 1994, it is the largest air polluting facility in Bucks County, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Emissions Inventory, responsible for 31% of all pounds of air pollution released in the county in 2014. In 2016, they burned trash from 12 Pennsylvania counties and 6 other states, as far as Minnesota. 37% of their waste came from out-of-state. The largest sources of the waste they burned in 2016 were New Jersey (36%), Bucks County, Pennsylvania (33%), and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (29%).
