This temple is "Kula Theivam" for lots of Chettiar familes of various Chettinad villages. The pond, "Nalla Pulla Pethan" in the sides of the temple, gives real tasty water to Sengeerai, Rayavaram and other villages around. Also an Aiyanar temple is at the back. Each temple has two giant mud made Horses in front ans entry guards.
