  • Another developer came in and attempted to redevelop this tract two years ago and did not succeed. The major problem is getting foreign banks to believe golf courses in the Philippines can be a success. In the mean time the Koreans are investing in courses heavily.

  • Malakingdude, I wonder why they would finance the construction of the golf course and then shut it down when it was finished? I can understand doubts about it making money, since this would have been the third golf course, with the other two getting very little use (in 2000). Those doubts should have prevented it being built. I wonder if corruption is a factor - like maybe having to pay off a local mafia chief to open a business? That kind of info is hard to obtain, since most of the brave reporters have been scared off or neutralized. I've heard there is now a fourth golf course near the flightline?
