Thomas Johnson High School was built in 1966 in what is North Downtown Frederick Maryland.The High School has been the largest school in Frederick County since it was opened on September 6th 1966.On the first day of the new building in 1966 there were approximately 1,950 students enrolled. In the 80's a fire started in the school which destroyed many trophies in the school, however some were spared in the horrible incident. The school today has approximately 2,050 students enrolled and has celebrated it's 40th anniversary on September 6th 2006.
