National Cancer Institute Federal Cancer Research Facility in Frederick.

Located behind the barbed-wire fence and armed guards of Ft. Detrick, this collection of world-war II era buildings resembles a concentration camp. It was once used by the US Army for offensive biological and chemical arms research and production. After President Nixon unilaterally forswore the US biological and chemical weapons programs, the facility was given over to the National Cancer Institute for use in studying cancer.
