JNU caves (Delhi)

These are the limestone caves towards the south end of JNU which is best approachable from the sanskrit studies school. One can see wildlife in the form of nilgai, go and peacocks en route. There is also a very old peepal tree below which people have made an open temple of Lord Shiva. There are 3-4 caves all closeby and covered with thick xerophytic vegetation. Trip to caves is organised by the mountaineering society every year. One can also go with a few friends and have a real adventure.
