Al Shuka Region

The Al Shuka region location is in the south east of Gaza Strip. Where it's boundary from the west is Rafah city and divided from it by the Salah El deen street. And bounded from the south by the Palestinian Egyptian border and Al Awda Crossing Point. From the west by the Green Line, and from the north by Sofa Crossing Point and El Fukhary Village.
There are about 12,000 inhabitants lives in Al Shuka region and it's land area about 20 Km2 and it is divided to three main locations (the north Shuka, the middle Shuka and the south Shuka).
The Al Shuka region have a very important strategical location (the gate of the Gaza strip to the world) because it contains the Gaza international Airport and both of Al Awda Crossing Point and Soofa Crossing Point.
* Al Shuka Municipality:
Starts as a projects commission in 1996 then it raised to a Village Council in 1999 then In 2004 to Al Shuka Municipality. The Municipality council consist of 11 member tow of them are women and the others are men. Their names are::
Mansor Breek (Mayor)
Mosa Abu Golidan - Salama El Debary - Ali Mo'ammar - Dr. Samy Abu Sonima - Hassan Abu Garad - Farag El Weqily - Abed Elqader Abu Shallof - Samyr Abu Loly.
And the tow women members are:
Gazia Abu Athra - Samira Hassan

Municipality purposes:
● Securing services for the local society.
● Infra structure projects.
● Secure Schools, clinks and Gardens.
● Activation of the Women part in the local society.
● Poor fighting.
● Local society promotion.
