USCG Station Woods Hole is the homebase for Group Woods Hole Command which covers the waters of Cape Cod and Rhode Island Sound. The station itself is part of the US Coast Guard's 1st District, Sector Southern New England and is the homeport for the US Coast Guard Cutters USCGC Hammerhead (WPB 87302), USCGC Tybee (WPB 1330) and USCGC Sanibel (WPB 1312) and a coastal Aids to Navigation (ATON) team.

  • Home to Group Woods Hole Command which covers Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Also has 41' UTBs for search and rescue and an Aids to Navigation section. Also currently based there are: USCGC Hammerhead (WPB 87302), USCGC Tybee (WPB 1330) and USCGC Sanibel (WPB 1312).
  • My dad was stationed here back in the late 70's.
  • I was station at base Woods Hole from 1967 to 1969 It hasn't changed much, I ran the 44339 and the 30415 and 40375. I remember when buzzards bay froze over and you could walk from Woods Hole to New Bedford.
