USS Buffalo (SSN-715)

USS Buffalo is the 28th Los Angeles Class Attack Submarine built for the US Navy, laid down at the Newport News Shipbuilding Yard in January 1980. Commissioned into US Navy service in November 1983, the USS Buffalo began her service with the US Pacific Fleet where she has spent her entire career operating out of both Pearl Harbor and Guam.

Most recently operating as a forward-deployed element of Submarine Squadron 1 out of Apra Harbor, Guam, the Buffalo returned to Pearl Harbor in January 2013 for a scheduled extended maintenance period that will permit the Flight I Submarine to operate through her scheduled 2017 decommissioning.
