The Arenas of Lutèce were built in the 1st century AD, and is one of the most important Gallo-Roman remains in Paris. When in use, the amphitheater could seat 15,000.
The ruins were rediscovered in the 1860's, and the excavation and restoration efforts continued until WWI. Today the site is a park.
