Currently the primary commercial jetliner runway at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Runway 10L/28R is a 9,000ft/2,743m Asphalt-surfaced runway oriented in an East/West direction. The runway was augmented in 2014 by the completion of expansion plans of Runway 10R/28L to permit side-by-side commercial aircraft takeoffs and landings at the airport.

  • Quite a distraction to I-95 motorists; very loud if you drive by the moment a plane is landing! Yet, the airport was built in the 1950s, and I-95 wasn't completed in that region until the mid-1970s.
