The mission of the Genomics Institute is to translate the promise of genomics into public health practices. The goal is to use emerging genetic knowledge to improve health and the quality of life, establishing and implementing scientifically, medically and ethically sound procedures. As part of the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health, the Genomics Institute is dedicated to improving the health of citizens and supporting basic and applied research.
