Capela de Nossa Senhora dos Milagres (Our Lady of Miracles), Vanxem.
Founded in 1655 by Fr. Diogo Monteiro from Vanxem and was handed to the Villegers in 1854.This is the oldest Chapel in South Goa.

  • I have read in other documents about Loutulim, that this chapel dates back to 1567 and is the oldest chapel in South Goa. This is a huge difference from 1655. Could some knowledgeable historian clarify this for us? Thank you.
  • According to some documents that I own, it was built in 1677 and was inaugurated on the 23rd of May. I veling to the family of Padre Diogo Monteiro and bear his namesake.
