  Tip: My guidebook said that American dollars are readily accepted in Joao Pessoa, I found the opposite, noone wanted them. I attempted to change some at local bank branches in Tambau, but was told to go to the city central bank. If you are in the Tambau/Cabo Branco area, I advise you to use "Mondeo Tour", they are in Av. Nego, 46 - Tambau, a short walk from the Tropical Tambau Hotel, a few yards from the sea front.
