    Yakkatut city. Population 5100. Post Index 151808. Landline Phone Beginning (998 73 539 XXXX). Main streets are Mustaqillik, O'zbekiston, Islom Nuri, Navoi, Ibn Sino, Akhunboboyev, Namuna, Do'stlik, Ittifoq, Yangihayot... It used to be centre of S.Azizov kolkhozy. Now it is know that people of former S.Azizov kolkhoz describes themselves as ther are from Yakkatut. These neighbourhoods include Qudash, Qirqketmon, To'ptol, Beshkapa, Devonato'p(Yangikhayot), Qorayozbobo, Akbarobod, Mallakhon, Khudoyorkhon, Sochteoam, Chinor, Dehqonobod, etc. Total population of Yakkatut including vicinity neighbourhoods exceeds 35 000. Uzbek language is the only main spoken language. Aproximately 90% of inhabitants are Uzbeks. Other ethnic groups are tajiks, kyrgizs, etc. It has one state college, several elementary and secondary schools, good transportation system, shopping center, food and drug stores, hospital, and others.

    Despite the fact thatn Yakkatut City was known since 1900s, it was experiencing main developments after 1970s. Beginning 1970, erection of the city was in top priority list of reginal administration and turned to constructions of new schools, hospitals, stores, and other facilities. After Soviet Union collapsed, constructions were paused until new economic reforms found it's way in Uzbekistan. Since then, Yakkatut again faced to new constructions, but mostly bu individuals and private companies. Banks, shopping center, private restaurants and stores, service centers and complexes are some of them. In 2005 according to a plan of the Government, 'Yoshlik' children-sport complex was built by Republican Fund for Developing Children Sport. The construction of Yakkatut State College was completed in September 2006 and it first students enrolled for fall term of 2006.
