Once upon a time, it was a very good and renowned hospital of north Assam run by Christian missionaries. Patients from towns and villages, tea gardens, even from 200 - 250 km away use to come to this hospital for treatment. But with the development of Assam Medical College Hospital at Dibrugarh, importance of this hospital was reduced. At present, only a skeleton facility of medical treatment is maintained here.
