Beaumont Field, named after Burlington-area native Clarence Howeth "Ginger" Beaumont, one of the finest hitters of the early 19th century. Ginger was also known for his speed, clocking a home-to-first base time of an amazing 4.4 seconds -- despite playing at 190 lbs and being 5'8" tall! Ginger Beaumont is the first hitter in the first World Series game in 1903, playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
