nature conservation park / area, interesting place

The Hundred Islands National Park (Pangasinan: Kapulo-puloan or Taytay-Bakes) is in the province of Pangasinan in northern Philippines. It is located in Alaminos City, Pangasinan. The islands (124 at low tide and 123 at high tide) are scattered along Lingayen Gulf and cover an area of 18.44 square kilometres (4,557 acres). They are believed to be about two million years old. Only three of them have been developed for tourists: Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island.

The Hundred Islands Geological System extents from the seashore islands up to inland islands in Barangays of Pandan, Telbang, Sabangan, Linmansangan, De Guzman and San Pedro. The islands system are clearly seen in this Wikimapia Satellite Imagery.

Note to the National and Local Government:

It is suggested that the inland islands of the Hundred Islands Geological System (as seen on this satellite imagery) must be included in the Hundred Islands National Park Declaration to preserved and maintains its natural geographic form. This is considered a new discovery about the Hundred Island. We called this as "The Hundred Islands Geological System" because the islands or islets in not only seen in the shore of Lengayen Gulf but also extended in the inlands barangays of Alaminos City, Pangasinan. It has been believing these inland islands was once submerge in water thousands or million years ago.
