Built in 1909 as the flagship of the Meier & Frank department store chain. The upper 11 floors of the building were converted to a luxury hotel called The Nines in 2008. The lower 5 floors remained open as a Macy's, until 2017. Those 5 floors have been redeveloped as offices and retail.
