  • commissioned in 16th May 1965, Namrup Thermal Power Station (NTPS) was the BIGGEST BASELOAD Gas Turbine Power Generating Station in sixties of 20th century in ASIA. With 134 Mw of installed capacity this power station has got three 23 MW and one 12.5 Gas turbines, one 30 MW Steam Turbine and one 22.5 MW Steam turbine with Waste Heat Recovery Unit. NTPS is the proud possessor of India's first Natural Gas run Steam Turbine which was installed by BHEL. NTPS is one of the main source of power supply in Upper Assam. Surrounded by scenic beauty of Dilli and Hapjan Tea Estates, Dilli river (which is the source of Dichang river of Assam) and Naga Hill, NTPS is now moving forward to replace its old power generating units which served the nation for more than 40 years.
