In 1940s, the place in Bandra (East) - the Mumbai Suburb - an isolated place by the Mahim Bay from the Main Mumbai (is)Land, was all dumped with nothing but just water and digs. Kher Saheb - the then Muncipal corporator, with his fore-sight to extend the Mumbai regime to out-skirts in the Suburbs - took an extra step and effort to estabish a township and took help of many (Social ) Workers and had successfully gave a cosmopolitan shape to (the part of) Mumbai.
The group of Social Workers - Khatiks, ( the Shatriya's Varna system mainly from Rajasthan - whose roots merges to Lord Krishna's Yadav kul(community) 5000 yrs back - which later with time bifurcated into Khatiks, originally Shatriya's - which with time have travelled to different states and have helped the local people and have acted like Sugar in water adding value to the local community and been always helpful and big hearted)- were offered by Kher-Saheb piece of land and where these hard-workers, revampers made their residental place - Swarag se sundar, Sapno se Pyara Ghar...Apna Ghar...

And this is the Today's Residential Towship of Khatik community from Rajashtan. The vibes of devotional, compossionate, friendly and hostful environment from this region helps to maintain a better and upgrowing prospress Bandra and Mumbai and Maharashtra and Bharat.

  • The absolute shit written above for "KHATIKWADI .I don want to comment on the roots, origin and how do they came into existence since that is not my point of concern but the point that is difficult to take in "Khatiks acted like Sugar in water adding value to the local community". Witnessing this society from past 25 years, one can easily deduce from its experiences that its nothing but a cancer which has spread across RamMandir(Bandra East) to all the way to Nirmal Nagar(Khar East). What makes my friend (grandson of Shri J.B. Badsewal) feel that "Swarag se sundar, Sapno se Pyara Ghar...Apna Ghar". If he want to say purging, dumping garbage on the main roads, illiteracy, resistance for development makes him feel so, than he is correct. Disclaimer: No Offence meant to any Caste or community. Since politician use this as a tool to join the elecoral league.
  • I believe development is a continuous process and which is a very little part of civilization. To make people learn what is correct and what is not one has to indulge and make them learn. It is not a one man job or can be done in one day. If one could compare the present situation and the past beck to 100 years it is far-far better and government has done nothing to improve this land and people. It is will of people who wants to improve themselves hence now these community has many youths who has acquired good education and intern teaching to there surroundings. And this is how society develops and consequently in long term country. It is all of us who has to take responsibility to improve not only the backwards but ultimately to future of our country.   • I may add that our people from genewration to generations deserve all praise. The Vedic Rituals by Priests and their orders to Stroke Sacrifice of Animal is carried out by none other than Rajput, Kshatriyas only to complete Yaga in the Yaga Mandapam. The Belligerent Kshatriyas were ‘‘Carry out the Sward and Stroke Sacrifice of the Animal’’. These Kshatriyas were segregated as Khadag plus eek = Khatik and Scheduled as Castes instead of Tribes.
