The Royal Dutch Army Camp named after General Winkelman near the town of Nunspeet, was operational from 1952 till 1996. The property was then transfered to the national forest control organisation (Dutch: Staatsbosbeheer). Another army base 't Harde was then renamed in his honour in May 2007.
