The Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul are an apostolic congregation of vowed women religious called to be channels of God's Providence in the world through compassionate service in response to the needs of the times. The Sisters of Providence are the only Roman Catholic congregation founded in Kingston, a Canadian city on the shore of Lake Ontario.
Since its humble beginning in 1861, the congregation has grown as its pioneering work with the poor has taken Sisters across the country and beyond.
