Mr. Stox was founded by Harry and Maurine Fahnestock in 1968. They later sold the restaurant to the Marshall family in 1977 and moved to Nevada where they ran a sod farm, Western Turf & Hardscapes, still operated by their son today. Harry passed away in 1992 and Maurine in 2000. The property was sold to the Shopoff Group to be turned into apartments. The restaurant closed March 15, 2013.
