brownfield land
Add category
The Davis Tannery site was abandoned by its original owners in the 1980s. The cost of pollution remediation far exceeded the value of the land. In 2006 the City of Kingston declared the site a brownfield under provincial legislation. Site remediation is now beginning under a consortium lead by the engineering firm Conestoga Rovers.
